The Federal λrmy
BEFORE THE 7 HOUR WAR- Their roots start in the western United States, when a Sheriff of a small county had the opportunity to see something that has never been seen before. The Sheriff was a quiet man, he had always known what to do whenever he had a problem. His county had elected him 5 times over, for only one promise, to keep his people safe. On a particular day, the Sheriff and his deputy had gotten an unusual call from dispatch. Dispatch had told them that a man at the border of the county had caught something in his shed, and he had never seen anything like it before. The Sheriff and his deputy had rode to the callers residence to find he wasn't inside. They had then walked into the house with their weapons drawn, a rare occurrence in their area, and had heard noises in the shed. The Sheriff and his deputy walked slowly but ever closer to the shed, until they stopped to listen. ............. Soon enough, a shrieking disfigured man barged out of the shed, lunging at the two. With utter horror in the Sheriff and deputy's eyes, the man had a huge spideresque creature on his head, with guts flooding out of his chest and fingers long and rotting. The two then shot the creature on the man's head, but it was too late. The Sheriff grasped the spideresque creature and ripped it off the victim's head. The scene was horrifying. The Sheriff looked at the body, it's head was cut open like a fruit, and it's figure had turned stiff as a stone. Without hesitation, they both had gotten back into their cruiser and had started driving as fast as the car can go down the highway. While they were driving, the deputy was trying to call dispatch over radio about what they had found, the radio was having some sort of interference and had stumbled upon a military frequency. This frequency was none other then the radio comms for the "Hazardous Environment Combat Unit". They had overheard the HECU talking about creatures they have seen. They had also heard them talking about "taking care" of the personnel at a research facility in the county. Without hesitating, the Sheriff knew that if they are killing research personnel for knowing about these creatures, he knew if they found out he had seen one, he would be next. The Sheriff, not caring about the consequences, radioed in his remaining deputies to assist him with rescuing the researchers and facility personnel. With care not to be detected, the Sheriff and his deputies rallied at small outposts where facility personnel were waiting for help from the military, not knowing of what would have happened if they had shown up. In about an hours time, the Sheriff and his deputies had rescued 30 facility personnel. The Sheriff had then saw Marine helicopters overhead and had decided to get out before they had caught on to their presence. With time still a factor, the Sheriff and his deputies had taken the highway to try and get as far way from the facility as possible. Soon after, a blinding light is seen in the cruiser's rear view mirror. An atomic blast within a matter of seconds destroys 75% of the Sheriff's county. With the Sheriff's entire life hood destroyed, he decides to find a suitable place for the survivors. He, with his deputies and facility personnel find an abandoned mining town. The Sheriff knew that the personnel couldn't go back to their regular lives, so he made a call to all citizens in the county to rally at this abandoned town. For the Sheriff, it seemed like he was the only one that could protect these people from foreign creatures and it's own military. He had made his choice, he was going to be the new law of the land. His force of deputies, researchers and militia was soon to be known as, The (New) Federal Army, since he was still an elected federal official. This Sheriff's name, was Steven Solvesky.
AFTER THE 7 HOUR WAR-After the 7 Hour War, the Federal Army, lead by now appointed Major General Solvesky, had decided that the situation they were in could only get worse. Their whereabouts were unknown to the galactic force that had besieged the Earth, but not for long. Their livestock were being eaten by interdimensional creatures. Crops were dying due to a drought. And worst of all, ammunition was all but gone defending against raiders. This was the Army's darkest hour, with everything not looking to get any better, General Solvesky was deciding to surrender to the interdimensional invaders. However, during the time leading up to the 7 Hour War, the researchers had programed a chip to be inserted into the blood stream that could be used to communicate with anyone who has it. With it being undetectable, it was a glimmer of hope for the Federal Army. With supplies down to only a few days worth, Solvesky ordered everyone in the Army to get the chip. The few days leading up to the surrender were worrying, not knowing where they will be taken, or if they will be split up. This was the Federal Army's last days together for a long time.
15 YEARS AFTER THE 7 HOUR WAR-15 Years after the 7 Hour War, in a mistake in bureaucracy, a majority of the Federal Army have been relocated to the industrial complex of City 17. This was the chance the army had waited for. With the chips still being as effective as the day they were put in, they had rallied together to fight for what they believed to be right. The interdimensional invaders, now known as the Combine have condensed a large amount of the human population into urban centers like city 17. With more and more civilians rallying around the resistance cause, the Federal Army shown itself as a glimmer of hope to the downtrodden citizen, with many joining the ranks under it's original commander, Steven Solvesky. The Federal Army is still fighting, with many of it's members still remembering the day it all began, in that small county.

(OOC) This group was made by me and Dakota because we really have a lot of passion for the HL2 Lore and community. I understand that sometimes people break the rules here and there and sometimes it gives a bad impression on a whole group in total. For the record, we are a SERIOUS group. We are not trying to minge around just to piss people off, we are just people trying to play a game and have fun with others that enjoy it just as much as we do.
